Conversion from Flash/Flex to HTML5

Over the years, Adobe Flash-Flex-ActionScript and HTML-JavaScript-CSS based development have been the primary approaches for front-end development across any web based application. Since flash had some drawbacks and limitation when it came to mobile devices, HTML5 evolved as a superior alternative. HTML5 offered support for multimedia content and could adapt to various screen dimensions across desktop and mobile devices. It was thus the usability issue that made companies opt for HTML5 for front end development. Many have even started to migrate their existing content from Flash to HTML5.

How HTML5 has an edge over Flash/Flex:

  • Portability and adaptability across devices and platforms.
  • One responsive website for both mobile and desktop
  • Offers wider reach and momentum to businesses

The process starts with using a suitable Flash to HTML framework to reorganize and restructure the existing Flash content to make it compatible with HTML5. It hence speeds up the conversion process to the new HTML5 content in a significantly lesser time. The final content on HTML5 will continue to have the same content from Flash like visuals, richness, look and feel, graphics and all.

The end HTML5 content will boast of wider usability across different screen dimensions of desktops, mobile devices, and tablets. The HTML5 content can further be made light weight so that it supports even low end mobile devices and consume optimal device resources.

All major browser providers like Google, Microsoft, Apple, and Mozilla have already invested huge amounts of resources in HTML. The reason: It’s where the innovation is. In past even Adobe and Microsoft formally announced that they’ll be migrating gears from their traditional proprietary technologies to HTML5. And when it comes to only mobile devices, HTML5 proves to be innovating at a much faster pace than Flash and Silverlight.
